Weighing 3285-pounds, "energy for the hybrid system of the 918 Spyder is stored in a fluid-cooled lithium-ion battery that can be recharged on a standard European household current." Powered by a 500hp V8 and dual electric motors "(one for each axle)", the Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid can theoretically achieve 78mpg, and hit 62mph in just 3.2-seconds. Essentially, "the two powertrains, gas and electric, can operate together or separately to motivate the wheels into motion."
